Health and Libraries Update

As 2016 is ending, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your taking time out of your busy schedule to speak with me over the phone and send quotes for the website http://librariesandhealth.com/

We are thrilled Sir Kenneth Calman is supporting the project. We look forward to forming partnerships with Universities in Cardiff and Bristol in 2017.

A decision was made to put The Libraries and Health Special Interest Group (SIG) with the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) on hold as we are keen to include more fellows and members who show an interest in how libraries can help inform and improve health.

The FPH will be kept up to date with progress of the initiative

 Nailsea Study Day Workshops 2017

We are planning a Study Day led by Dr Andrew Edgar Cardiff University. We will contact you in the New Year with more details and dates for January or February.

                     Thanks again! Malcolm

"Information, fully understood, is a key part of care. Patients need such help to give clear consent to treatment and investigation. This project enables patients and families to grasp the essence of the issues and play a full part in the decision-making process" Sir Kenneth Calman KCB FRCP FRSE

Society of Town Clerks

Do you have a story or project that you would like to share with The Society of Town Clerks?

A recent article was shared with 4,700 Town Clerks using digital media and was distributed in hard copy from the CPD stand at Conferences run by the Society of Council Clerks.

Parish and Town Councils can have an important role in promoting health and well-being in their parish. Often the needs of the local community have been identified in the neighbourhood or town / parish plan.

In other cases, a local councillor, member of the public or the Clerk become aware of how the council can contribute and / or facilitate a new service for their residents. Please contact me at: m.rigler@nhs.net
